Research Interview with ESCP Business School, Berlin, Germany

To prepare and support a thesis for a research of a post graduate in management student from ESCP business school, Berlin, Germany, yesterday I was interviewed on the “Digital Transformation in Media and Entertainment industry” and new digital products and innovation.

Global revenue in the entertainment industry will reach 1.7 trillion Euro in 2020 and is projected to rise at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.4% over the next five years, reaching $2.4 trillion by 2022.

Technology is disrupting every industry and new innovation and technologies have impacted Media and Entertainment industry. Be it AR / VR, wearables, Artificial Intelligence, Gesture control, Online Gaming, Esports, 3D / 4D …

From a single TV screen to multiple devices and touch screens, wearables, the audience has many choices of entertainment than ever before. AI and ML have changed the online advertisement and revenue opportunities. Blockchain is trying to resolve the major concerns of the industry like piracy, copyrights.

The potential that 5G will bring as its adoption grows will present the right set of circumstances for forward-thinking companies to become one of the first to market in areas which are set to boom in the coming years (AR, subscription gaming, 4K mobile video distribution).
